WHY THE PLAN?

One of the biggest mistakes I see athletes make is show up unprepared and with their arms not in shape to begin the season simply because they don't know how to properly get their arm ready for a baseball season. I believe a lot of these injuries can be avoided by simply having and following a pitching development plan.

I was drafted by my hometown team Houston Astros as a short stop in the 8th round of the 1999 MLB Draft out of Texas Tech University.  I then transitioned into becoming a pitcher in the Astros minor league system in 2003.  After just 3 short years of learning how to pitch, I made my major league debut on June 2nd 2006 and went on to spend 5 Major League seasons (2006-2010) with the Astros before spending my final year (2011) in the Miami Marlins Organization. I am often asked how was I able to change positions after being drafted and then make it to the Major Leagues in just 3 years?  My answer: I had a strong work ethic, and belief system that was instilled in me by my dad, & mom at a young age. (They would tell me I could accomplish anything I wanted to in life, if I worked hard, and believed in myself)  But probably just as important, I sat down with my professional coaches as a new pitcher to develop a detailed plan of success that helped me expedite my learning curve in my new position, helping me live out my childhood dream of playing for my hometown Houston Astros.  After my playing career was done, I immediately jumped into coaching at the youth travel ball arena.  I was surprised to learn the amount of pitchers that were having arm injuries, and even arm surgeries at a very young age, and the lack of knowledge by parents, players, coaches (9u - High School) on how to truly develop and take care of a pitchers arm.  I believe a lot of these injuries could be avoided by simply having and following a pitching development plan. This is why I want to make that same pitching plan my professional coaches taught me available to you!  So now, you have access to the plan, all thats left is to work hard on it, and believe you can accomplish anything you set your mind to!  Lets Go!
